DAY ELEVEN: Which Happened to be a Sunday

Meet Terry Apshire of Apshire Flooring he showed up
at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. His mission? To weave
oak flooring in where the sink/dishwasher part of the
cabinet was removed. There was no flooring under there.

He's here on Sunday because he has a bigger job
which took up all last week and will take up the
beginning part of next week. The wood has to
sit for a minimum of 3 days in the house before
they can refinish it otherwise the wood could have
problems with humidity, etc. If Terry didn't come
today, our job would have been delayed a week.
This was tough work as Terry set the strips in piece by piece...

and it looks amazing!

I hope Terry doesn't read this, but I don't think
we're paying him enough for the quality of work
we're getting.

The other benefit is he spent a good 4 1/2 hours
whamming wood with mallets, trimming and notching
with a saw... he made a huge RACKET which pleased
us greatly because Mason had chosen to stay up
all last night!! Heh!
